Shutdown Key

The shutdown key/cause and effect matrix is generated directly from the PLC program using Sytech’s proprietary algorithms. This method is only used for PLC5, SLC500, and Micrologix.

Limitation: The PLC code must be in ladder logic.

The following data are extracted and then inserted into the shutdown key:

1. PLC address
2. PLC tag (see Note 1)
3. Tag description (see Note 1)
4. Alarm/Shutdown setpoint (see Note 2)
5.Time delay
6.Engineering units (see Note 1)
6.Cause and Effect Matrix

Notes

1. Data is used from the PLC program. When data is not available (for example, tag description), then data is left blank in the shutdown key/cause and effect output file (excel format). For an additional price we will scape descriptors from a SCADA host or source on a T&M basis.
2. Applicable only to analog inputs.
